Ian Walsh

Ian Walsh, 32

“Everything we do as surfers is derived from the sun.”

Ian went solar in 2013 and just expanded his home system. Fresh off a first-place win at the HIC Pro at Sunset, he's now primed to make a run for the Triple Crown. Ian's philosophy on life: "It's not how good you are, but how good you want to be."

Kai Lenny

Kai Lenny, 24

“Little things make a difference. What if everyone just got solar panels?”

Kai’s family went solar in 2012 and they haven’t looked back since. The Lennys now have solar on three homes. They are vocal members of the solar community on Maui, helping to raise awareness and support our efforts to grow the solar market in Hawaii. Kai Lenny is a six-time world stand up paddle champion — one of the world’s most complete watermen.

Robby Swift

Robby Swift, 29

“Our generation has grown up around renewable energy. Going solar is something everyone should think about."

Robby is installing solar on the new house he's building on Maui's North Shore. He moved to Maui from England at 16 to follow his dream of becoming one of the best windsurfers in the world.

Kaleo Amadeo, 41

"Better than getting a second job! Referrals = surfboards!"

Born in Paia, Maui, Kaleo is the voice of Hookup, a legendary North Shore beach park which is home to some of the world's best surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers. Kaleo is a solar home owner and notable community member and enjoys helping his friends go solar.

Kody Kerbox

Kody Kerbox, 21

“Hawaii will be 100% renewable by the time I’m 40 — I’m stoked!"

Kody is another world class, Maui-born and bred waterman who grew up in the ocean. Inspired by his father’s legendary surfing career, Kody continues his quest for a SUP world tour title and is always a challenger in downwind conditions. Kody has been a solar home owner for 4 years and is developing a solar farm on his property in Haiku.

Buzzy Kerbox, 58

“We’re leading the world in transitioning away from oil. I'm stoked to be a part of it."

Arriving in Hawaii by boat in 1964, Buzzy Kerbox has lived through a lot of changes in the islands. After a globe-trotting athletic and modeling career, Buzzy likes to keep it simple on the North Shore of Oahu, riding his electric bike from his house to the beach. He installed solar on his Maui property and is getting a new system on Oahu.

"When a surfer becomes a surfer, it's almost like an obligation to be an environmentalist at the same time."
